Heh, I'm an ebay junkie. I think I like looking mostly. I was surprised about a week ago that someone was selling an old (I think) off-name brand clarinet. This person did not seem to know much about clarinets, but they gave the best description of the instrument they could.
They were describing the name stamped on each piece, then the mouthpiece. But what struck me was the description of the mouthpiece saying "Kaspar Anne Arbor" and whatever facing was written on it. People weren't bidding $300 on the clarinet, they were bidding on the mouthpiece. Maybe some of you saw it... maybe one of you bought it. I was just thoroughly amused.

And why not? From time to time I've even bid on a junk clarinet just because the case was decent.

Hey Contra,
I know what you mean - I'm an eBay junkie also. Last winter was just an incredible season for Kaspar mouthpieces on eBay. I acquired a nice Selmer Bundy contra alto there. Much fun!

Hi,
eBay is like going to pawn shops, Trader Joes, or Big Lot stores. You need to look everyday as "now you see it, now you don't."
As far as eBay though, there are many savy buyer out there (several from this BB) who do know what's up and those are the folks that come away with the bargins.
But excuse me, I need to check "what's New" on the eBay Clarinet section.

eBay is like looking for mushrooms or lost golf balls.

You might find what you've always been looking for if you'll just go out and reorganize your garage. It's happened to me more than once

Ron, are you saying you have Kaspars free for the finding in your garage?
;)
