What's the general consenus? Are they designed to work in conjunction with a Chadash barrel? How do they compare to the Greg Smiths and leading Vandies?

From my understanding, the Chadash-Hill is meant to be a copy of the old Chedeville. Contact Guy via his website (http://www.chadashclarinet.com/) or Chris Hill for details.

I have a C-H...it is more closed in tip and longer facing than the Smith, but not too dissimilar from the M15 vandie except that it articulates nicer and is more colorful in its timbral spectrum. (gee..did I say that)
The baffle is more concave and the rails more delicate.
Facing-wise (facially?)it is like my old Kaspar AA, but the sound is perhaps a bit richer.
If you like the Smith, you may not like the CH--and vice versa--as always, a matter of preference.
As for the use of the Chadash barrel....Darn if I know. Wouldnt mind trying a few dozen if you're buyin.

I test played over 40 mouthpieces, settled on the Chadash-Hill. There are 3 facings that I am aware of. I have the "middle" facing. You will have to get to Guy Chadash on this website to find out what works for you.
