Old Ambassador Clarinet

Hey all!
Long time no see.

I just got a crappy old Amabssador clarinet on ebay for like 30 bucks that I wanted to fix it and sell to a friend. (she's a flute player that just wants something to play on) It's wood... and dried out... I think the only major problem is the bottom joint has a bit of chipping on the tenon.

I took off all the keys, scrubbed it under lukewarm water, and oiled it up. That think absorbed all the oil and it almost looks like it needs more!

Should I just leave it, and hope it's enough? How do I know when enough is enough? I don't think there any way of ruining this thing in the shape I got it. It's a healthy shade of black, and not the dried up red/brown it was before.
