For those who've expressed concern about the demise of American symphony orchestras - take heart: apparently, your government views the renewed activities of the Bagdad Symphony as one of the signs of progress in Iraq (see: NY Times, 8/9/03).
Who knows, maybe soon job opportunities for clarinetists will open up in Bagdad, Basra, Tikrit, Mosul...
