Just wanted to say that I tried a box of Marca Pete Fountain Reeds. They really do have a nice big round sound. I think on a hardness scale they are similar to Vandoren traditionals.

GBK, thanks for your input. You may be right. Mine are new and haven't had time to "fail" yet. I have started two reeds and played each one a few nights. So far they seem ok, but maybe not as good as when I first played them. I'll see how they do.

That was interesting to hear about the PFs - I got a box recently and the way I break them in (15-20 min about 5-6 X one at a time till they are all broken in so I can see what adjustment needed don't laugh works for me) I haven't experienced what you did. I would be disappointed to experience the same thing you did because I really like them all so far. Another kind I'm evaluating for further use is Daniel's - so far my #1 choice. Anyone else have any experience with these reeds?
