I'm surprised they didn't name their company Harris and Sons to further promote the illusion of original Harrison reed cases.

If youre in the market for reed cased check these out. I came across them not too long ago and they seem pretty nice. We just set him up as a vendor in our store. http://www.iwu.edu/~rgarrett/reedcases_info.html

I have no affinity for Harrison reed cases. Interestingly enough, the 3 cheaper $20, 12-reed Selmer reed case I bought (which hold 15 if reeds are stored heal to toe) have so far remained more serviceable and not fallen apart a full year longer than the trendy $20 (1970-80s price) Harrison reed cases we all used to rave over. Must be the plastic-coated outer casing as opposed to real wood. I've still got all my old Harrison cases, they are all an absolute wreck, hinges broken, rubber bands around them and lacquer finish all worn off. Good candidates to be refurbished. v/r Ken

My Harrison reed cases (from the early 70's) certainly do show their mileage (clasp barely working/rubber bands for security/one hinge gone), but they are like old friends with great (well...mostly great) memories.

Somehow, I can't part with them ...GBK

I don't like all these cases where you put your reeds flat on glass... I prefer the tips to be free to warp as they wish, because as I break them in, they become more and more stable anyway, until they don't warp enough to be a hindrence. Besides, I don't live in a very extreme climate at all.
Can you get nice wooden cases that allows this, and doesn't have the flat glass?
