 HS* consistency
Author: kenabbott

I can't find my old HS* warhorse of 25 years and want to replace it. How likely is a new HS* to feel like my old one? What else should I try?

I used it mainly with a Selmer 10G and occasionally with a Rossi French bore.

I have several HS* s, and each one has a slightly different feel. They are all similar, but not exactly alike. How much of this is subjective, and how much objective is difficult to ascertain. I would suggest checking out eBay to see if there are any like your old one up for auction. The HS* with the oval on the table tend to go for more $ than the newer ones.

I "inherited" an HS* with [in] the oval on the table [untouched?], and like it much better than my "memory" of others. That "feeling" includes that facing on an O' Brien glass mp. It seems to be more similar to my 5RVL, 11.6, etc, but I still prefer even more-open and longer facings. Interested, Don

Thanx, Mark, Don
