In an earlier thread, I noted the mention of water coming from the left thumb hole. I have this problem and would appreciate suggestions for its solution. I would categorize myself as an intermediate adult player and have been taking lessons for the last 2+ years. The problem has been noticeable since I started playing a new Buffet R13. I use a Vandoren M14 mouthpiece and Vandoren V12 3.5 reeds.
I'd appreciate any suggestions from the more experienced folks . . .

Mike - I really didn't want to be first to "guess" at your water problem. Question?, if it leaks OUTSIDE the tube, I would consider it to be a Buffet/seller warranty problem. I believe one of the pro-repairer's steps is to remove and re-seat the vent and thumb tubes for NO leakage. Otherwise, we'd prob. suggest a "dryer" embochure, with occasional shaking/blowing/swabbing, as has been discussed here. Luck, Don

That just means you're blowing some hot tunes through a cool horn!
(Condensation forms in this manner, a principle used in your AC.)
No solution to this other than swabbing.
Dollars will get you donuts that this is LESS pronounced in dry Winter times.

From my exerience as a player and repairer I can tell you some individual horns are prone to it. It is not brand specific or model specific. Check that the thumb tube is installed properly other than that it is climactic or the particular horn is just prone to it. You may have to let the horn dry for a week or two and then oil the bore. It may help but never oil a wet bore.
