I was just wondering what the bore was of the E&S series clarinet I have. It was determined it was the predecessor of the E-13, made in 1970. When I look up information about the E-13, I can't find a bore dimension, but notice that it's supposedly "free blowing" compared to the R-13. So I think the bore would be slightly larger.
And would this have any effect on how well a barrel would work. I mean, if a barrel was made for the R-13, and the E-13 has a slightly different bore, wouldn't that make the barrel less effective on my clarinet than what it's supposed to be? I was just always curious. I already know that I'm going to try out a few barrels in the upcoming month(s), but was always curious as to bore dimension and how it would affect the performance of a mis-matched barrel.
