I recently checked out a video from my local library. The video was titled The Art of Conducting. It was a documentary on great conductors of the past. One of the conductors on the video was Sir John Barbirolli conducting either the New Philharmonia Orchestra or the Halle Orchestra. (I can't remember which one). It showed him conducting the orchestra during a rehearsal. Unfortunatley the video didn't tell which piece it was. Sir John Barbirolli kept having the orchestra play a phrase over and over until it was perfect. The piece sounded like it was in a minor key. Ever since I heard the piece of music I wish I had known what piece it was! It's been bothering me ever since.
If anyone has seen this video before and knows what I'm talking about could they offer any suggestions to which composer wrote the piece or what piece it might be.
Thanks!

Hard to find on the flyer but it was Bruckner's 7th Sym. Emaj and it was the Halle orch rehearsal in Manchester 1965
