Hi,
I heard Stephen Charette's recital mp3's and in that he played the Penderecki three minatures.
Has anyone else played them? Has Penderecki also written a concerto?
Thanks,
Rob

Penderecki has indeed written a clarinet concerto, recorded by Sharon Kam on Teldec 0630-13135-2.
Also on the recording are Sinfonietta No. 2 for Clarinet and Strings, the Three Miniatures, and the Prelude for Solo Clarinet (all by Penderecki) and Lutoslawski's Dance Preludes.
Best regards,
jnk

What are the works like? Is the Kam recording the only one available?

The "Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima" is spine-chilling. Strings only and nothing to do with what you are talking about, except that Penderecki wrote it, but definitely worth a listen.
