Hey my keys on my horn are nickel and are 34 years old and are becoming tarnished from use, I was wondering if there is a way to restore their natural shine, is there a way to give them a "nickel bath" at home? Exactly how do the pros replate this stuff just out of curiosity? thanx

Want to spend about $5.00 (USD)? I don't know if this works on nickle-plate but it sure as heck works on just about everything else. Dave S...just told me about this stuff. I asked him as I am bone lazy and not smart enough to dismantle my horn and put it back together. It sure shined up an older Malerne Alto he said (prior to selling) that was "grungy" and he did not have time to work on it.
It's a product called "Never Dull." Ever heard of it? Actually I thought it was a gell, or liquid but it's a "wad" of cloth product impregnated with a cleansing agent. One pulls bits off and then burnishes the offending tarnished object. When you get the degree of tarnish off you wish (depending on how tired your fingers get), just lay it aside for a bit, get a soft polishing cloth and go over it to polish it. Best thing about it is it does not leave any residue between your trill keys or any place else. Keep off the cork and pads, however.
Where do you get this wonderful stuff? Believe it or not, not where you would figure. Got mine at a NAPA auto parts store. Found out since my local hardware store had it in their "cleaning supplies" department. Dave also mentioned Wallmart. Good for silver, gold, etc, etc.

Okay I couldnt find the "neve dull" but I will keep lookingI did however get this stuff :MAAS its a polishing creme and believe it or not took off some of the tarnish but not all, try it at our own risk lol tell me if it worked kinda for you thanx

On a sidenote, how much do you think it'd be to get the keys completely redone. As in changing the keys from a nickel plate to a silverplate? Out of curiousity cause I can't afford it (right now that is . . . )

you'll find 'never dull' at hardware stores and even some grocery stores in the home section. don't rub too hard as it can leave minute scratches on the metal.
replating........requires a complete overhaul ......pads, corks, etc. when replated, even the posts are removed for plating. $300+
now go polish
