 Alto Clarinet Mouthpiece
Author: fiveola

I just purchased a used alto clarinet and need enlightening with regards to what type(s) of mouthpieces I should try/buy. I already play saxophone professionally for years and the mouthpieces I use are very open and free blowing. What I'm looking for is something open and not stuffy. I just don't want to buy something I'm going to outgrow in 6 months. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I have been happy with a Hite alto clarinet mouthpiece I purchased last year, although I have not played the alto very much, waiting to get it overhauled.

Try a Vandoren B40.

See if Clark Fobes makes one --- his mouthpieces are uniformly quite good.
