Hi everyone! I am looking for a new barrel...one that give a very nice defined centered tone. I would surely appreciate it if someof you shared what kind of barrels you enjoy, or would recommend. Thanks!

I really don't know what a centered tone is but I felt sorry no one responded to you. I've used a number of barrels with varying results. My latest is a Pyne "Clarion" and I'm liking it very much.

Well, the popular choice for buffets is a Chadash or Moenig barrel. I think both are specially reamed to closer match buffets than others.
There are quite a number of barrels out there, and I would think most of them would be good. Just like a number of mouthpieces out there are excellent. If you haven't checked the sponsor's pages, check there. Also, (and I'm glad for this), most if not all of the sponsors have GREAT customer service and when I've emailed them asking a few questions or advice on products or services they sell, they usually respond promptly with help. You can ask them about their barrels. Describe what type of clarinet you use since the bore diameter's change from model to model and I would probably think it'd be better to have a small-bore barrel with a small-bore clarinet, etc.
GL. This is one of the things I'm probably going to get with my summer pay.

I had a summer/warm weather tuning problem with a LeBlanc Dynamic 2 and sought the advice of Robert Scott in Lansing, MI. Bob sent me a 68mm aa2 barrel that solved the problem perfectly.
His address is on the BB as a maker of barrels. Drop him an email or make a phone call and he may be able to help you.

Buffet Chadash barrels are my favorite. The Moenig's (sp?) give a really nice legato but the tone isn't as good as the chadash from what I have tested from those at IMS.
If you play a leblanc perhaps just trying new barrels from that company would be your best bet.
I have heard people talk about Muncy barrels. Hmm good luck!

Has anyone tried the Click barrel? I would like to purchase one, just because it seems easy for tuning purposes, i wonder if it changes the tone much?

well, most of your sound comes from your barrel. When you are picking out a clarinet you are essentially picking out barrels. So changing from a wood barrel to a synthetic does cost alot in tone quality in my opinion.

Check the sponsors of this site. Clark Fobes makes great barrels, Walter Grabner makes barrels as well as some others. It all depends on what works with your mouthpiece, reed and instrument. Some combinations work better than others. Get a few from these guys and check them out.

I agree with James. I would stay away from synthetic barrels. I have tried many and none seem to have the ring that you should desire from the clarinet. Whatever barrel you choose, make sure it gives you resitance and the ability to sing well up in the higher registers.

A tech has mentioned to me trying a synthetic barrel but I am hesitating for some of the reasons cyso has described. I prefer wood. It seems that changing from wood to a synthetic barrel would help to defeat the purpose of owning a wood clarinet. If that doesnt matter then what ever sounds the best to you.

I play on a Robert Scott Barrel. As reccommended by my former lesson teacher as well as Bob Spring. i love! i found to have made my tone warmer and more centered.

I've used click barrels extensively before, and their tone is quite bad. Getting a good wood barrel is much better. It gives you good pitch, but it's not that hard to get good pitch from a wooden barrel, anyways, so there really isn't too much point to a click barrel except perhaps for emergencies when you're extremely flat or something. Otherwise, I can't think of a great use for a click barrel.
