Do a quick search on AltaVista with "Bolcolm Concerto" as a query term. It's been recorded a few times.

There is recording of the Bolcom Concerto that is played by Stanley Drucker out there, but there is one problem: it is part of the NY Phil's new $185 box set "American Celebration." I got a sampler CD of it for only $6 and it has the 3rd mvt from the concerto on there.

I saw Derek Bermel, a student of Bolcom and also Fred Ormand (I think) perform this. I was just thinking about it cause I ran into him in NYC last week. Derek played it so well, I can't imagine anyone playing it better. I have his e-mail somewhere. Write me if you want me to hunt it down. Derek told me he just wrote and performed his own concerto. Did anyone happen to hear the Beremel concerto?

I'm sorry, I was mistaken. I haven't been able to find any legit recording of the Bolcom (not that I'd own up to hearing a bootleg tape once).

Just noticed this old message about derek bermel's concerto browsing around. derek's concerto is awesome. He's me old teacher and he told me something funny once: he said, aside from a few clarinetists out there (krackauer, and a few others), he wouldn't trust anyone else with performing his concerto. He plays it better than anyone else can anyway. It's a cool concerto, really jazzy, kinda like the Copland, but from an alternate universe or something. I've got him email if you wanna get in touch with him. -Dylan
