Hi,
Just wondering have any of you who have or have had a Leblanc Noblet tried turning the thumb rest upside down yourselves ?
I think that'd cure the problem I'm having with my thumb - the rest is too low.
Do you think I need to get a qualified repairer to do it - it looks easy enough - two small screws ??????

Sue....don't know how handy you are but they're tiny, maybe be hard to get out and get back in, and easy to lose.

I'm fairly handy - take your point about the size of them - maybe I'll ask a repairer to have a look.
I'm very pleased with it thanks Bob - it's got a nice rich tone and much better than my Buffet B12 for quieter sections. Just the thumb rest causing a little problem,
I've progressed from Vandoren V12 size 2.5 to 3 reeds with it too and can get a better tone on the higher notes - so I'm well pleased !

I have often wondered what kind of hands these clarinet designers have.
I have had to work on every clarinet I've had to reverse or replace the thumb rest due to its too-low position. On one, I just drilled two new holes and moved the rest, but hesitated to do this on my new Leblanc , so I made a new rest using the original holes. Reversing the rest makes it too
uncomfortable, even with padding.

I decided to have a go myself at reversing the thumb rest - it was easier than I thought and has corrected the problem for me.
Take your point about it being bit uncomfortable - I've got a cuschion on it that helps.
