manufacturing year of my bassclarinet

Hi! I need to know the manufcaturing year of my clarinet. The serial number is 28956, and it's a Buffet Crampon Prestige bassclarinet. I've tried finding it at the Buffet internet page, but I'm not sure if it works for bassclarinets as well. Can anyone help me?

Irene -

Buffet harmony clarinets have a different series of serial numbers from their soprano clarinets. The list on this site, http://www.woodwind.org/clarinet/Equipment/HowOld/Buffet.html , goes up only through 26734, which is the end of 1993. The yearly increment is about 700, so your instrument was probably made in 1996 or 1997.

The Boosey.com site identifies this under "harmony clarinet" as manufactured in 1996.
