Hey everyone!
I did a recording of myself for a solo competition playing the Mozart Concerto last week. After listening to it...ahhh.....I realized how thin my upper register sounds. My low notes sound so nice and full though. Ekks, do any of you know what I can do? thanks!

Your reeds might be a little too thin in relation to the mpc you're using . . . Also, you might be biting as you go higher, which isn't uncommon.

Ask a knowledgble musician to listen to you, problem might be the fidelity of the recording equiptment.

It could just have been a **** recording, using an inbuilt condensor mike perhaps? It is amazing how much better sound recordings sound when they are done properly.

A week is not much time, but work on voicing and support can make at least some difference.
First, you need to convince yourself that altissimo notes are not "high" -- just another register. See the register linking exercise I posted at http://test.woodwind.org/clarinet/BBoard/read.html?f=1&i=93432&t=93381 for one way to learn this. Do the exercise until you can get a sound you like on the high notes. Then, work on the long scale in the first movement of the Mozart -- the one beginning on low G and going up to the high F and then down. Hold the low register warmth in the tone all the way to the top. It helps to hold an "ah" vowel shape in your mouth, rather than changing to "ee."

As someone said, perhaps it's the recording that is at fault. Cheap microphones also make pianos sound bad....
