I have not. Oh, the Doctor's website says that this stuff is the best and I believe him. However, I like the Dr Slicks (beeswax, olive oil, slippery elm and maybe some magic) so much, that I have not tried the space age stuff. I like putting on a dab every time I play. It smells good and feels good and it works fine as chap stick.

I once had a clarinet whose corks were suspect.
Brittle and dry - clearly owner neglect.
I used some Syntec and a little Dr. Slick.
They brought some new life to that old licorice stick.

Just put a little on that old dried up cork,
Assembly? So easy, without any torque.
Since it's not too much cash to give them a try,
Order a few - you'll see I don't lie. ...GBK

The good Dr. suggested that the Slick be used for awhile on new cork until absorbed then use the Syntck as needed. I tried it and a year later wouldn't dream of using anything else.
If you have any product questions I've found the Dr. to be frank and thorough – and you won’t have to wait long for a response.

I was going to do a "Tonka", but in the interests of harmony with GBK I shall restrain myself. Ha! [grin]

Never felt comfortable in Haiku...GBK (who has read too many limerick books in his lifetime)

This is one of those threads that seems to develop a life of its own. I shall digress. I have used Dr. Syntek. I like it very much. I think the Doctor's products are among the valuable "secrets" I have learned from this board. And roses are red, violets blue. (Sorry, I was carried away by the Muse.)

I've ordered some stuff from the Doctor, I'm really looking forward to getting it all - I've heard nothing but good stuff, NO-ONE has EVER said anything even slightly negative about his products, from what I recall.

He was excellent and very patient when I was having troubles with PayPal, and once I ordered, he even told me exactly how the order was going, when it was shipping, and that he'd found a fast method of shipping here (to Australia).

So go for it, try it out, and best of all, his stuff isn't expensive like some of the [crappy] stuff out there.

response to original question:

Both cork products work better than any of
the > 8 others I have tried. I used the
synthetic product after a year of the organic
version on new cork. Then got the guts
to try. The big advantage of the synthetic
is that it seems to last considerably longer
than the organic, which means that I do
not have to grease-up nearly as much.

Count this as an endorsement of the Doctor's
products.

If the stuff wasn't so good I would wonder if "The Doc" planted this tweaker himself. Go For IT! Another satified user.

I own both the Dr Slick & the Dr. Syntek. I prefer the Dr Slick as it seems to last longer on my corks. The Dr. Syntek is much slicker though.

They are both great products!

MOO,
Matt
