This is the beginning of the end...or is it?

I was just thinking the other day, and came up with a question. The final note can make you savor a song forever or want to forget it right away. What is the most common note/chord ending for a song? Is there one that occurs most or more frequently than others? One that spans all styles?
I figured that this would best place to ask! Thanks for your responses!

Some folks like a little tonic before the performance. All's well that ends well [cool]

Definitely note #1 of the key. According to "Classical Music for Dummies" it's true in over 99% of songs.

I-V-I... or is it VII-III?!? You may never know... or we could always go to VI! Don't be deceived!

Yet there is the reasonably common and very successful, memorably emotional ending that differs, such as the 6 th note of the scale in "Somewhere" (There's a Place For Us.....) - West Side Story; and is it the 5th in 'Little Bird" of Fiddler on The Roof, as it is in 'You'll Never Walk Alone".
