I don't know about the rest of you, the weather has a major impact on how my reeds play. Whenever it rains, my reeds go haywire. Good reeds sound bad and sometimes reeds that were bad sound good. It's extremely frustrating. Any suggestions. I sore them in Selmer reed case in a plastic bag, but it doesn't seem to do much good.

The only suggestion I have is to make sure you keep even the "bad" reeds for when something like this happens. Also, each time before you play at a concert, lesson, anytime you want a good reed, playtest your reeds to pick whichever sounds best at the moment. And just rotate them as you practice daily.
I don't think there's a great way to counteract mother nature, just as prepared as you can be for that unpredictable behavior.

This is why some of us carry a Legere reed in our case, just in case.

i believe that the weather does have something to do with reeds - my first year playing clarinet i decided to audition for the district honor band... i was the first to audition because i had a dance recital later that afternoon and had to travel an hour to get home and get ready. the doors were locked, so i had to wait outside in the freezing weather. i had left my case with my friend in another part of the building, and i only had 5 minutes before i had to audition, so i didnt think i had time to go back and get it. i ended up waiting MUCH longer than that - my bell cracked and what i had previously considered the best reed in my box had gone totally haywire. needless to say it was a very unlucky day for me and i will never make the same mistake again.

Weather affects most things except maybe diamonds and gold. Your realization indicates you have reached the next plateau of proficiency.
