this company went out of business a long time ago so the knives arent made anymore. my teacher told me to get a knife like it. does anyone know what the characteristics of it are or which knife is similar to it? if it matters he told me to order one from woodwind and brasswind.

Didn't you ask the same exact question a week ago?

Perhaps you could go back to your teacher with your information and questions above and ask for advice on what type to get. That's one of the things that teachers are for.

If he sent you out to get a particular reed knife and they are no longer available, then he should be able to tell you which type or which one specifically to get instead.

And at other places. Do a Yahoo or Google search for "Herder reed knife."=

Perhaps it would be good to read what people write next time ... it'll save you the embarassment ...

Next thing you know your instructor will tell you to play a herder reed or use vaseline on your corks
