Anyone ever heard of Henri Farny of Paris? I found one of these for sale to-day, in pretty rough shape. I wonder if it would be worth restoring.

A search here will bring back a significant amount of information on this maker.

I've got a 1920's Henri Farny Albert System. I restored it years ago and it still plays fine for what it is. They were not top grade instruments when new.

From the lack of any info on the name, I'm assuming it is another of the many "stencil[led]" French-sounding names that importers used from maybe 1870's to 1950 to sell inexpensive cls. Some, like those made by Malerne, were quite good insts. Don

Thanx, Mark, Don

I restored a metal Henry (Henri?) Farny. It was a student quality instrument, but better than some. Given that it was an import name, there is no telling who made it. Two from the same year could be of dramatically different quality.
