 Orchestra piece
Author: Cindy

If I were able to choose any one piece for an orchestra that I am in, what piece should I choose? I want something with an overall good clarinet part, because there is a chance I will not sit principal on that piece. I also want it to be interesting for the rest of the orchestra. I am blank on ideas. Please help! Thanks!

So many instruments to play........so little time to play them!

Dvorak - Symphony No. 8 in G, Op. 88 (originally published as No. 4)

Lots of clarinet duet work ...GBK

I would go with Scherherazade by Rimsky for one of the funner parts....I am performing the Dvorak 8 this week in our orchestral concerts.

Funny isn't it GBK mentions this one?

Great slow movement duet for 2 clarinetti.
