The Peregi Verbunk is Weiner's interpretation of the traditional features of the Czardas folk dance.

Stylistically I would suggest listening to other similar pieces which use Hungarian or gypsy folk tunes as their basis.

To get a better feel for this type of music, try listening to Kodaly's Dances of Galanta, the Brahms Hungarian Dances, or even the Liszt Hungarian Rhapsodies.

Those pieces should all put you in the proper frame of mind to play Weiner's Peregi Verbunk ..GBK

i agree to listening to heaps of other gypsy/folk music. use rubato but keep the pulse steady (remember its a dance), and don't be afraid to play marked accents and dynamics that sounds odd to our ears.
Also, this piece works really well paired with another of weiner's pieces; "Csürdongölo", to finish with. One of my favourite pieces; have fun!
