 MP- C85

MP: Selmer, C85 #105. I think it came w/ my Selmer Omega clarinet. I find it easier to hit the upper notes w/ it (e & higher) anyway- what is the MP about... just wondering.

It was designed for the Recital model, as I recall. I don't know how it plays on a Selmer Omega, but I thought that on my 10G and R13, it had fairly nice sound up close, but it didn't project all that well in an orchestra. It may be different for you, of course.

My Selmer 10SII came with a C85-116(?.
Japanese 442Hz model?) mouthpiece.

You can read Selmer mouthpieces lineups at their web-page.

When I bought it 2 years ago,I thought Selmer made a big improvement by 10SII from 10S I once had. It really emits a centered tone. I consider big sounds heard by player himself does not necessarily reach far with good projection. Centered sounds do.

Among clarinet manufacturers I know, only Selmer has a professional knowledge to make mouthpieces. Other manufacturers' clarinet come with cheaply molded ones. This is another reason why I like Selmer.
