Hello!
I'm new to this board.
Being a clarinet student in mannheim, germany, i got interested in mouthpiece making and adjusting. Being myself a newby on this topic, i never touched a mouthpiece yet, only found some interesting articles on the internet.
I'm searching for information about tools (to "measure, scrape and sand", etc) the professionals work with.
Do you know any literature about mp's? I found none, yet..:-)
Thank you very much,
Thomas.

Try Ferree's catalog-- they list many tools (including mouthpiece related tools). Their band repair manual has a large section on mouthpieces----Good luck!

One of the sources of such apparatus seems to have dried up over here as I haven't found it listed recently anywhere. Ferree's stuff is limited. My personal opinion is that mp craftsmanship is a real art as some of the measurements are too critical for measurement with typical machine tools. If you haven't yet "touched" a mp then you should. You can have a lot of fun with just a flat surface and 600 grit paper and it won't cost much but don't expect miracles.
