Payment methods/Online Fraud

Hi

What are the more common (secure) payment options for the buyer when dealing with a online seller, especially with an unverified seller?

Is there any way to guard against fraudulent sellers?

Hi,

I sell lots of clarinet items on ebay and I require and prefer paypal.com for payments. As a buyer I believe there is now insurance you can pay for about a few dollars with paypal.com when you are buying something. If the seller you are dealing with is on ebay.com I believe ebay offers some type of protection against such fraud.
