 Ligatures

Anyone have/try a gold ripamonti ligature?
I have the black plastic set (a player recommended a while back) but they stink IMHO.

At one time Phill Muncy played with an old Ripamonte. I couldn't tell you if he still does as I've not seen him playing in a good long while. For him they worked pretty well.

Generally I stick to the old bonade inverted or the Rovner dark.

Tried and true.

I like my VD Optimum. Plays like a Bonade inverted, but without the constant readjustment hassels. I do not like Rovners. For me, they are like "sound curtains."

The newer Bonade ligatures don't work well. Mine is about 30 years old!
