how'd y'all get your BB name?

How did you get the name you use for the BB board? You don't have to reveal private information obviously, but some BB names are quite interesting!

- ron b -, short for Ron Baxter, seems pretty straightforward to me and is about as 'un-clever' as my posts and responses. I like to keep it simple

Ditto. I'm Katrina. I used to shorten it to "Kat," but with the new BB, I figured I'd "come out" and use my whole name!

For me it's a rendition of an old nickname of mine. For years (and still today by some people) I was called "Sexy Flexy Alexi". Probably because it rhymed . . . .

It's an anagram of "Galph R" -- it was pure coincidence that it was also my first name and last initial.

WJK - You sure keep us busy posting via "leading" [pertinent?] questions!! I liked my daughter-in-law's "moniker", changing her # to my birth-year, not very inventive. Don

Every since my birth I have noticed that when ever someone mentions TIM, they are usually talking to me. I gave it a lot of thought and decided that the same principle would probable work on a BB. I then added the "P" because I like the shape and thought it would look cool.

Somebody else had my name when I joined, so I made up a name from my initials. The other guy has gone but I keep my nom de clarinette out of inertia. In fact, I'm starting to like it.

It's my nickname, which stems from my admiration for Benny Goodman. One of my friends had the bright idea to call me Benni (with an 'i') because "that's the feminine spelling." I personally have never met another girl named Benni . . . What would it even be a nickname for? Benjamina?

Despite the similarity of wjk to GBK, I never refer to him as GBK. I simply call him "Maestro."

After my dog. Actually, I was calling for him when I set up my profile so I just used it.

Anyone ever wonder why one would want to be anonymous on this type of board? WJK, is this your next post? (It'd be a good-un!)

Morrigan - Celtic goddess of war. No idea where I picked it up from or why I still use it. I just have for as long as I can remember!

"Guido" was the assumed name of my father during his WWII visit to colorful Anzio beachead and points north leading through Rome en route to Lac Como, northern Italy, at war's end.

Through its use, I honor his efforts, blessings and passing.

Among the many blessings was a Martin clarinet for my fourth grade study...

It's been my name for 65 years, used to hate it. Everywhere I went there were 3 or 4 others, but since I emigrated to an English speaking land, I have reconciled. I too like to keep it simple.

Kinda sounds like a Greek entree. Does it come with feta cheese?

Sorry. We're all out of feta.

My REAL name is "Alexi". And no it's not greek or russian, it's spanish. Derived from "Alexis" which is a very popular guys name in spanish, but not so much in the USA (which led to frequently getting picked on, and finally having my name legally changed to drop the "S" at the end).

The SF in the front is pronounced as initials. Like one would say "JJM" as each letter, you say "S", "F", "Alexi". SF stands for "Sexy Flexy" (an old nickname which I can't get rid of for two reasons - (1) being that I work out constantly and have toned quite nicely, and (2) being that they are pretty much the only things you can think of that rhyme with "Alexi").

Sorry. It's not as exotic of a name as you think.

"Jas"... an old short form of my real name "James". I've wanted people to call me "Jas" (pronounced "jazz") for as long as I can remember, but it never took... everybody loves "Jim". [grin]

Back when I was born my parents didn't give me a middle name. When I was in the Navy, I started using a backwards N (the symbol for a check valve) to initial logs, even though neither of my names even had an N at all. After about two years I gave myself the middle name Neil and incorporated it into my signature, making the N backwards.

I'm normally called by my middle name, Mark.
Now there is clearly scope for confusion with that name here, but there is also where I work. There are at least 5 Marks around, so we all got given some other name to tell us apart. My real first name is Jeremy so my friends call me that or Jerry, Jed, Jez. I don't mind which, they're all preferable to my first nickname, Acker!
