hey,
I'm doing a half recital with a violinist on 2nd july for a fairly wide ranging audience. I think I'll have to play the pieces I've studied most recently (I'm 17, my repertoire isn't huge) - does this sound like an ok programme:
Schumann ,Fantasy pieces
Ireland ,Fantasy sonata
Martinu, Sonatina
Arnold Sonatina
I know it doesn't seem very balanced, but do you think the audience will like it - I guess it won't exactly be a specialist audience....?
Oh, and do any of you know anything about these pieces which I could use to talk to introduce them to my audience (Oh God, I actualy have to talk to my audience, I'm scared)
thankyou

You could tell your audience about the composers and what you have learned about them. I've done Google searches on various composers and found out things. If it's just to intro a piece, it won't have to be an in-depth dissertation.
