i need help with my audition for the navy band. i need a list of all major, minor, triads, and arppegio scales. also a 5-7 min. solo of just clarinet, no piano. if anyone has any ideas or know where i can find some help, please let me know. i have plenty of time to prepare because at this time i am unable to practice due to my pregnancy. thank you for all of your help.

Scales and chord structures can be found in many references. One that I've mentioned before (and no one has complained) is *The Complete Idiot's Guide To Music Theory*, which is about 20 bux at Barnes and Noble or other sellers.
Good luck on both the audition and the anticipated launching.

As you might imagine, TANSTAAFL (There Aint No Such Thing As A Free Lunch). The ugly truth is that you have to work your way all the way through Baermann III. See my posting at:

With several months in hand, you have time to work a lot of the scales and arpeggios up to the high polish you'll need for the audition.
Most people play the Mozart Concerto as an audition piece. If you don't, they'll more likely than not ask for it. Just pick something you're comfortable with.
