Ive been playing clarinet for a while, and I really like it. The thing is, I had a thought, more like a fantasy, that I would play and go to a university where I would get a masters in music, play here and there in symphony orchestras, then when I got to a certain age, go to Europe and stay there and play for some sort of a group, b/c I kind of think that the music is better there, in the way of thinking that since it came from Europe (classical music, and so on) then its good there. Well, I am not afraid to admit I can be ignorant of things. Does anyone know if there is a such a thing as a clarinet conservatory in Europe, like in France, Italy or something. Its a dream that I may one day move there and play there contently.........Well, if anyone actually has ever done this, Id be gald to know about it. IF anyone ever wanted to do this, let me know what you think. Also, any comments are appreciated. Also, Ive never been there as well. Does anyone one konw about the music there. I fantasize that its a remarkable place of music. hehe....well thanx

When I was in England, I was still somewhere in that fanasty...we drove by the London School of Music, where Andrew Lloyd Webber (among others, but that's all I know off the top of my head) studied. I wanted nothing more to go there...I still wouldn't mind...but I'm okay studying science at UNC...
Just thought I'd say that I shared the dream...It's a good one---hopefully it it comes true for you!

There was a conservatory that commenced during the summer in Saltzburg, Germany when I was in school about 10 years ago. I don't know if it is still operating or not, but I think it was called the Mozart Conservatory. Anyone else remember this? It started out in Germany, went to France and ended in England before returning to the US at the end of Summer. Also, I do believe it was accredited and counted toward college credits. I had the chance to go once, but didn't have the $$$ as my scholarships and financial aid didn't cover anything like this. : (
