I get to play as part of my school's senior recital at the end of April. I've been planning on playing the last movement of the Weber Concerto No. 2 for ages. I'm ready. But my school's accompanist- who accompanies all of the people playing the recital- has carpal tunnel. He can't play my accompaniment because of the fast parts. Would it be OK for me to perform this movement without accompaniment? I know it wouldn't be the best thing but would it be acceptable? I'm looking for another accompanist but I need a back-up plan if this won't work solo. Since the only solo piece I know well is the Stravinsky 3 Pieces, I know what might be coming.
Thanks for reading,
Micaela

Micaela -
The Weber # 1 really won't work without accompaniment. What are the rest of the people on the recital doing? If they have other pianists, ask politely and you should be able to get one of them. Is one of your classmates doing a piano solo? Ask him or her. Do you have a church organist you could ask? Is there a harpist in town? They usually also play piano.
Best regards.

Would a teacher help you out? A teacher is playing the backgroung piano reductions for my juries at the end of semester (an evaluation of what I learned in lessons for the semester).
