Friday I ordered a set of pads for an evette Buffet from a dealer in battlecreek,Mi.I was looking for gortex pads but they told me they never heard of them.Does anyone know where to get them or if they're not carrying them, then does that mean they are not worth looking for? Thanks for any input,Shane

Gortex pads are very expensive (about $90.00 a set) which is why you won't find too many places stocking them ...

They are used by some high end clarinets, but they're not really a necessity at all.

Gortex pads are also supposed to be very difficult to install.

The Fall, 1999 Weiner catalog lists a set of Gortex clarinet pads at $64 (see p. 80).

Rick is correct. Gortex pads can be a pain to get leveled and seated. If you've never replaced pads before I would suggest getting some good bladder pads (Prestini) or equivalent.
