Schenkerian analysis

I am currently enrolled in a Schenkerian Analysis course, and for my final project I would like to analyze the Mozart Concerto, preferably first or second movement.

Does a resource containing a full or partial analysis exist? THe purpose of the project is to analyze a piece, and where possible compare your analysis to a previous analysis...develop a critique of both...explain your process...blah blah blah...

although I don't need it to complete the project, a comparative study would be quite helpful as I am a major neophyte when it comes to Schenker's theories.

i'm sure the basic outline will be something of the I-IV-V-I variety... God bless Schenker and his affinity for stating the obvious! :-)

For either the Wolfgang Meyer or the Paul Meyer recording of the Mozart Concerto (I can't remember which), the notes booklet has an extremely detailed structural analysis.

I'm sure somebody out there must have wasted their time doing a Schenker workup on K622. Check the various university libraries online and see if anyone wrote a thesis or disertation on the piece that contains the analysis.

Doing Schenker on Mozart is a little like measuring dot pitch and pigment blend on Seurat's La Grande Jatte. Missing the forest for the trees...

What a delightful post!

To me, Schenker brings to mind William S. Burroughs. Their writings are just about equally clear. Except I used to enjoy Burroughs.
