 Fantasie-Caprice by Lefebvre

We just learned that the audition music for the 2004 California All State Honor Band, as well as the SCSBOA honor groups, will be the Lefebvre's Fantasie-Caprice. Excuse me for living, since I'm not a clarinetist, but can someone shed some light regarding this piece? I've not heard of this and a search through the database did not shed any light.

I am going to assume that it is a tough piece. Last year's music was the Copland Clarinet Concerto. How does it compare to the Fantasie-Caprice?
FYI, the audition covers measure 2 to the 3rd beat of measure 11; measure 60 to measure 77; and measure 150 to the end.

Any information will be highly appreciated.

The Fantasic-Caprice is replacing the Copland Concerto as an audition piece? Wow.....that's strange. The Fantasic Caprice can be found in the 16 Grand Solos book and it is an amazing piece. It's a very long blow and shows a great deal of technique. It's very french sounding and the piano part is pretty simple to follow.
