Hi, I've been playing the clarinet for 11 years, but haven't had much structured playing in the last couple of years. I've never had lessons, and don't plan on getting any in the near future. Are there any good advanced books out there that I could use to keep up my skills? Suggestions for sheet music would be appriciated too! Thanks.

See the other section of this BBS for suggested drill books. I personally own some very good books edited by Hite from Southern Music Company. They include the Baermann series, Cavalini, Rose, and many of the other well recognized published works. Of course, there is always Klose', too. These books may not be advanced enough for you, but they are a great start and they are very well respected by amateurs and pros alike. If you want the most complex published drill book series available, try Hindemuth's books. I've heard that they are wickedly complex and definitely professional material.
My pro tutor still practices from his set of books on a daily basis, so there is value in having your own personal library of "the classics".
The Hindemuth series (4 books) is definitely a custom order and it will be expensive. I tried to fetch these books once from my local retailer. He had a hard time finding them and then he gave me the retail price quote. Ouch! My entire Southern Music Company library cost less than this, even at the retail price.
You should be able to fetch the Klose' book at almost any music instrument retailer for about $20 (US retail). Chances are very good that you will be able to get most of the Southern Music Company books right off the same shelf. The retail price varies at about $12 to $15 (US retail) for each Southern Music book.
