 grip during disassembly

Where is the best/ most strategic place to grip the various clarinet joints during disassembly to minimize the risk of bent rods, etc? Thanks!

Here's what I do, assuming I can find the words to "show" you...

Left hand on upper joint, palm closing the ring keys to elevate the bridge mechanism.

Right hand on lower joint, with palm around the back of the bottom part (so as not to mess up the E/B lever)

Twist gently in opposite directions while pulling gently apart.
