I played on a pair of Bn's for seven or eight
years. The only reeds with which I had
consistent success were 4.5 V12's, but
probably 50% of the reeds in a box were
usable as practice, rehearsal, or performance
reeds. These reeds on this mouthpiece yielded
a setup that was very resistant. The general
intonational tendency was to sharpness, necessitating a 67 mm barrel and still I'd
have to pull out. Also the usual tendency of
the lower notes to rise in pitch with
decreasing volume seems to be exagerated
with this setup. Finally, despite the hard reeds, I was not able to produce a lot of volume. So why did I stick with these
mouthpieces so long? In a word, the sound.
For the last several months I've been playing
a much different setup which is less resistant, more responsive, better in tune, and more flexible. But I still miss the
sound of the Pyne!

Interesting post. I seem to remember the Pyne mouthpieces as being fairly stuffy and a few quite flat.
As to price they are quite expensive, so most players should look at how it intonates for themself before buying.
However, that being said Morales and Campbell sound great on their set-up with this particular make.
