Has anybody played 'The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind' by Osvaldo Golijov? I was wondering which clarinets one needs for this piece (eg. bass clarinet, basset horn, etc.) Thanks.

The credits on the recording by Kronos Quartet & David Krakauer list clarinet, bass clarinet, and basset horn.

Giora Feidman performed it here in Ann Arbor several (5?) years ago. The piece was commissioned by the string quartet he toured with for their fairwell tour. Mr. Golijov was there as well. If my memory serves me right, he had five instruments: B-flat, A, Bass, Basset Horn, & E-flat.

I am a typical clarinetist and can't remember which string quartet.

Regards
