 base clarinet case

I recently purchased a base clarinet case on ebay. it actually has bc and the school abbrev on it. the problem is that my lyons monarch doesn't fit in it. the bell is too large and the ends seem too large. is it more likely that this isn't a bc case, or to the horns come in different sizes?
