know of any?
My buffet one scratches the ligature. the vandoren cap is like $25. anyone know of a cheaper place to get one? or know of any other caps that would fit?

Go the $25. The cap is nice, fits the lig well, and kooks good too. The "combo" of lig and cap is now half the price I paid a couple years ago.
But boy what a great lig!

My Optimum came with a black plastic cap, not the expensive silver plated beauty.
The plastic ought to be pretty cheap.

I live in the UK, the plastic cap on my Optimum was about £4.

I use a BG plastic lig cap with my Bb sop Optimum. The bass clarinet Optimum came with a silver metal cap--no scratch results as yet (and who cares anyhow??)

I had a plastic cap, which my son nabbed when he lost his.
I presently have a flim container over it. It falls off easily, but is fine while in the case, I never leave it around outside the case. I could probably take a fine tooth saw to it and have it fit pretty well.

My clarinet teacher told me a while ago to not use the metal cap. She said to go out and buy a plastic Luyben cap. They are dirt cheap (like two dollars) and if they fall on an orchestral stage they don't make a huge amound of sound during a concert.

I use a Gigilotti cap that the plastic ligature came with.
Don't use the lig.

I use a cheap plastic cap which I altered with my friendly kraft knife to enlarge the opening so as to make it both wider and longer. A bit of sandpaper to make the edges smooth and you're in business.
