i just got a new greg smith mouthpiece! now how should i store it in my case? i have a vandoren ligature and no cap :(

i've seen some peple store their mouthpieces with an old reed to protect it. i've seen others that store it separately.

hmmmmm....

Also, have any of you ever had Wendy's chili? i heard that it's good for you.

I would say get a cap. i don't think there'll be much of a difference as to how you store it. Mabe in it's original box or case until you can get a cap. The cases are padded so it shouldn't be a big deal.

And I love wendy's' chili. It's great.

I keep mine in the cut-out made for it in the case. I keep the ligature and cap on it while it is in there to keep it from banging around in transit. Not had any problems so far (knock on wood!).

Wendy's chili? YUCK!!! [tongue]

Wolf brand chili for me. Actually, the local HEB supermarket's in-house knockoff brand of Wolf is good too. Slather it on top of a bed of Fritos. Now that's Texas eatin'. Keep the Tums within reach.

I just got a Greg Smith Cicero myself (actually tried all five of his makes and still have to send the others back). I still carry it in the box, but I'll eventually move it to the case, with the cap and lig on it. As long as it's not banging around, the cap will protect it.

I got my wife to make sleeves for my mpcs out of track suit material which keeps them snug and "wrapped in cotton wool". Not a chance of damage.

I keep mine in the spot designed to hold a mpc in the case, but the hole is a tad too big, even w/ the mpc having a mpc cap on, so I stuff some squares of foam around it. I think if I get a mpc cap that fits better it might stay in there a bit better, too.
