Is this the solution to wy I amalways flat?? Maybe I wasn't when I played on my yamaha clarinet? I looked at a posting on this board from a while back and my clarinet is by German Engineering. If thi is the case, I may have to buy a ew clarine over the summer.

Aside from the people employed by Wexler, there isn't a sane person on this planet who would recommend their clarinets.
Cut through all the above publicity hype and search this board, as the subject of Wexler clarinets has been throughly discussed...GBK

This clarinet was a gift tome from my aunt and uncle and they didn't know which brands are better than others. I went to ebay and typed in 'German Clarinet' and that is when I found the ad I posted above. Okay, so does anyone want to suggest a good brand clarinet? Thnks..GBK and everyone! Clarinetplayer

clarinetplayer, most people who post here would suggest instruments made by Buffet, Leblanc, Selmer, and Yamaha. These are not the only good makers out there, but they do form a good baseline until you know enough about the instrument to make an independent selection, or if you have the solid advice of someone really trusted (preferably someone who is not profiting from the sale).
Especially on older Clarinets, the maker's name may not appear on the instrument. Leblanc's student (and some higher-level) Clarinets, for example, are marked "Vito."

In the Vito line- for a good, affordable plastic clarinet, I would go with the Vito 7214. For a really good plastic clarinet in the intermediate level ( some would argue it is the best plastic clarinet out there), I would obviously go with the V40. For a wooden clarinet, I would just go ahead and get the Vito VSP ( 7820).
