 B40 mouthpiece search for students(results)

In spite of the fact i know alot of people who dislike Vandoren pieces, I recently tested a batch of B40s for students and found a few that are excellent...I think that if one can have a chance to try many mouthpieces, I would advise players who don't have alot of money to give some of these a shot.

The M30 which I have just recently tried was also quite nice. I am sure if one looks around numerous mouthpieces they will find the B40 or M30 far better than the B45s which I my opinion are less consistent. I also know that there are some kicking B45s around, so don't settle for the first piece you play thinking its the one.

I also use the B40s in certain situations and like the timbre they have. I don't seem to find them as quircky as other players, however they do take a very developed embouchure to control....

I have B40 aswell as a B45. I find the B40 more playable.

David,
If you're interested, contact me directly about a B40. My e-mail address is in my user profile. I intended to e-mail you but found your e-mail address not included in your user profile.

Honestly I've dested Vandoren mouthpieces for years for their inconsistency, among other things. However, I recently tried a few of the M30's and was very impressed. I've planned on suggesting it to a couple of students. As for the B40 or B45; I'm still not that fond of either. The B45's are just way out there and are too difficult to try to get a student to play in tune and are too shrill and brittle. B40's are better, but I'm still not all that thrilled with them.

The M30 has my vote for now on the Vandie line.
