I should be a Gemini (no insult intended)

I'm looking at getting new A and Bb clarinets. I like the tone I get from Buffet R-13s but like the ease of playing LeBlanc. I currently have an R-13 Bb but a LeBlanc Concerto A. I want to get a matching pair because my present mouthpiece/reed set-up doesn't interchange very well with the two. My inclination is to get a Buffet A but my register breaks are smoother on a LeBlanc. I don't know how much is just my ineffiency at clarinet playing and how much is the clarinet. Any insights? There are definitely great merits to both clarinets/companies. What about Yamahas or Selmers without maxing the credit card from mail orders or the patience of the local music store?
BTW, I'm a Cancer.

If you like the tone you get from R13s- then dont go for "the ease of playing Leblancs" just because you dont wanna work.

Even if I am a Leblanc player, I really have to tell you that if you have to work more, t get a better sound- then thats what you should do( if you can understand where i'm coming from).

Have you tried Bb and A Buffet Vintage Models(R13 Vintage as in the model not the age)?
Have you also tried Selmer's Recital and Signature in Bb and A?

It might be a tedious process to order/wait/try w/e all these clarinets, but in the end it should be worth it........

One factor is leaks in the instrument. In going over the break, leaks in the B/E or C/F pads can make it harder. Also, the upper body section should hold a vacuum when the bottom tenon is covered or plugged with a cork and you suck on the top tenon with your mouth. I also like the sound of the R13, although there is some similarity to the Concerto or 10G Selmer sounds which were supposedly designed with somewhat similar acoustics.
Good luck!
