Has anyone had experience playing a Festival A?
My daughter has a Festival B but now needs an A for serious orchestral work.
She is using a borrowed R13 A at the moment, it sounds great, but loves the sweet tone her Festival B delivers and wondered if the same model in an A would sound as good.
We would love to hear from anyone who plays a festival A before we shop around.

My A clarinet is a festival and I love it to death. It has the richest and sweetest tone I could ask for. It has excellent projection and I would highly recommend it. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me via email at brandonhood@hotmail.com. By the way, my Bb is an R-13.

Larry,
Hello again! One thing I would recommend would be to try the Buffet RC Prestige A clarinets. A lot of people are finding that these A clarinets match particularly well with Festival Bbs. In fact, that's what I just bought... Festival Bb and RC Prestige A. They are quite a bit more expensive but well worth the price. Hope this helps and good luck.

I also own a Festival A clarinet. I went to the warehouse where Buffet clarinets are distributed to hand picked one out. They are very consistent horns. I find also, the projection is very good and the warmth that it produces is very good. As far as the comment made earlier about the Prestige RC A, I wouldn't even bother trying one out. They cost about another $1500 more than the Festival and the Festival does play just as well.
Happy hunting.

Which I think is a less-than-intelligent answer.

Not according to my son's taste. He has a pair of Festivals, which, even though he enjoys them mightily, would be happy to exchange for a pair of RCs
