Has any one ever heard of this mouthpiece and tried it?
It's a pretty wild design and I would love to know if anybody ever tried it and what they think of it.

I remember seeing a few years ago someone marketing the "dot" that you see on the baffle (front page of the site), but I don't remember what it was supposed to do. I don't know anyone who bought one. I wonder if it was the same guy?

Grahams Music in Albuquerque, NM has the "Dimple" Vandamme in stock.
It's interesting, a bit dark and stuffy, but it plays in tune with a pleasant sound. If interested, contact:

Hi Sylvain (neat name):
I was told the "Dimple" was a baffle of sorts, similar to the ones used in the newer sax mouthpieces. It's supposed to change the air column, help the flow and direct the air more efficiently. All theory, no real facts, but the mouthpiece does play rather well. Call Graham in NM for more details.

I tried out a clarinet from Graham last week and he was kind enough to drop a Vandamme Dimple in the case. I forget the exact model, but Graham told me it had a very open tip.
To me, it seemed to brighten up the sound of all of the clarinets I tried it on, and make my A clarinet feel like it would respond more quickly. I don't know exactly how to describe it, but the A felt like a smaller clarinet.
Certain overtones seemed to dominate. It is quite different from any other mouthpiece I’ve tried.
I seem to remember hearing about old New Orleans Jazz players tweaking clarinet mouthpieces by gouging a dimple in the baffle or sticking a lump of chewing gum in it to get more power. Interesting concept, although maybe a slightly different definition of power than we would use today.
