Moenig barrels? or Chadash Barrels?
which one is beter? what do you think?
and Moenig barrels and Chadash barrel......what's different?
which one is more "dark" sound?

A fine, rare Oporto goes well.I have not tried a Chadash barrel. Maybe it is good with a Claret.
OK... Recently, I tried a Moenig on my R13 (c.1962) and frankly I prefered the cylindrical barrel that came with the instrument. The instr. was purchased from Moenig, and HE was the one who selected the cylindrical stock barrel in the first place. There was a selection of barrels in a display case at the entrance to his second floor shop from which he would pick the appropriate barrel for a given instrument. I wonder what happened to his assistant, Cassimir, who was a fairly good clarinetist and played in the phila. symphony club.

I use a Moenig barrel on my vintage R13 A that improves both the sound and the tuning in the upper register. I also have a Chadash barrel that I does not work as well as my stock Buffet barrel. However, I firmly believe that I "got lucky" in aquiring the "right" Moenig barrel for my particular clarinet and that you must ultimately pick the specific barrel that works best for you, wheither it be Moenig, Chadash, Springer, Accubore, stock--or, as another suggested, "beer." Although, after auditioning a half-barrel of brew, the rest of the selection process may seem less important. For best results, however, stick to the clarinet variety of keg (opps, barrel).

I like my new barrel very much! It's a cocobolo by walter Grabner and has improved and added warth to my tone more than a chadash that I tried. Dont pass up trying Mr. Grabner's Barrels!

I prefer the Chadash barrel I have tried over the Moenig, although I really do think the Moenigs are better and this was just a fluke.
My suggestion is to try all the good barrels you can , and then select one because there are many different qualities even when dealing with the same model- so I really cannot tell you which one suits you more
